In the view of celebration of World IP Day – 2021, IPR cell organized one day Webinar on “Protection of IPR and Research Ethics” (IPR-RE-2021). 26th April, 2021.

In the view of celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, the IPR Cell and IEEE branch of the University jointly organized one day webinar on “PROTECTION OF IPR AND RESEARCH ETHICS” on 26 April 2021. In the Program Prof Vinay Rishiwal has welcomed all the eminent speakers whereas Prof. S. S. Bedi highlights the objective of the webinar. The webinar was addressed by Prof. H. K. Sardana, Chief Scientist, CSIR-CSIO, Chandigarh, as Guest of Honour. The attendees got to learn about the procedure of filing the patent along with the key points that one should keep in mind while filing it and the risks that we might face while running a big organization. Prof. Sardana threw light on how important it is to have strong writing skills while writing the claim and a clear view of the invention and innovation steps as he continued with informing us of the necessity to follow Indian Patent first before moving on to some foreign countries.
Prof. K. P. Singh, Vice Chancellor, MJPRU, Bareilly as Chief Guest of the Program addressed the participants and emphasis on the fair and useful research with ethical values. The program continued with the discussion of important key points while filing a patent. One should have adequate knowledge of the basic principles of their rights and be able to understand the language to write their patent. The host informed everyone about collaboration being a big issue while dealing with an organization. The bigger the organization, the difficult it is to manage and keep it together. The session came to an end with the question-answer session between the host and the attendees. Overall, the webinar was very informative and might have benefited everyone in some way or other.
