 Establishment 1976

Established in 1976, the Department of Sports is dedicated to fostering physical fitness, competitive spirit, and the overall well-being of students. It proudly houses the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Sports Complex, a premier facility featuring an indoor stadium equipped for badminton, table tennis, boxing, and wrestling (with grappling mats), along with a modern, well-equipped gymnasium and a fully functional physiotherapy centre to support athletes' training and recovery.
The outdoor section of the complex includes a standard athletics track and dedicated courts for volleyball, basketball, shot put, javelin throw, and other games. The department regularly organises various training camps to prepare students for tournaments, and successfully hosts Inter-University, North Zone, and All-India level competitions.

  • Providing state-of-the-art infrastructure and expert coaching for skill development.
  • Conducting fitness programs and specialised training sessions to enhance performance.
  • Offering physiotherapy support for injury prevention and rehabilitation.
  • Creating opportunities for students to participate in zonal, national, and university- level events.
  • Instilling discipline, teamwork, and leadership qualities through sports activities.

With its dedicated efforts, the Department of Sports continues to play a pivotal role in developing future champions and promoting a vibrant sporting culture within the university.
