The department of Bioinformatics and computational biology came into being in the session 2025-26.
The department operates in a well-designed building which it shares with department of microbiology.
The department contains all the requires infrastructure facilities such as lecture halls, practical laboratories and rooms for teaching and non-teaching staffs.
The department is well equipped with advanced computational facility, high speed internet and competent faculties to facilitate various bioinformatics research.
The department offers a Master’s programme leading to M.Sc. in Bioinformatics.
The Annual intake of students is thirty for which entrance examination is conducted in July.
The department is currently staffed with one professor and two Assistant professors to facilitate academics.
