Department of Philosophy
Department of Philosophy was established in 1995 in the University Campus at Faculty of Education & Allied Sciences.
Department introduced two courses M.A- Philosophy in 1997 and P.G. Diploma in Yoga Education in 1998.
The syllabus of M.A. Philosophy has been designed as per UGC’s latest model curriculum with the purpose to provide exposure and sensitivity to students towards Philosophy and to prepare them for employability in other areas, along with conventional teaching job.
The syllabus is also modified on time to time as per the requirements of modern change and need.
In addition of the above facts the general objectives of the course are given below
The course will prepare the students to work as:

- Researcher
The students will be trained to act as specialists in areas of
- Indian and Western Philosophy
- Phenomenology and Analytic Philosophy
- Ethics, Social and Political Philosophy
- Philosophy of Culture and Arts
- To impart exposure regarding research procedure and to enable them to adopt practical approach while selecting topic for research and to familiarize them with research methodology.
- To focus on the personality development of students through regular Group Discussion, Seminar and personal interaction.
