Department of Applied Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry under the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, was established in 1995 with the inception of B.Tech. courses to cater to the need of engineering students for core chemistry courses in I Year. However, later taking into consideration the dearth of quality
PG programs in the specialized areas of chemistry in the whole Rohilkhand region, it was decided to upgrade the status of the Department by initiating a new PG program. Based on these logical grounds the department started a Post graduate course namely M.Sc. in Applied Chemistry in
2004-05 after the approval of UGC and U.P. state Government. But now in due course of time, the nomenclature was revised and the term Applied was dropped. Now the degree is awarded in Organic Chemistry. The department shared room in the Nehru Kendra till 2013, after which it was shifted
to its new building in 2013.We have lecture halls with well-equipped laboratories for B.Tech. and M.Sc. students. We have also office space and separate labs for faculty members both from the point of view of teaching & research.
