Department of Electrical Engineering
The Department of Electrical Engineering was established in 1996, is situated in the building of its own and occupying a space of 2508 sqm.
There are 05 class room/lecture halls besides 05 well equipped laboratories. Also, the department possesses a smart class room , a department library and a computer lab.
There are 01 Associate Professor, 06 Assistant Professors and 02 Faculty Members, 02 technical staffs who assist various academic, research and administrative activities.
The Department offers B. Tech and the number of students intake is 60 every year. The success rate at the examinations is 90% and the employment rate is 50-60% that are fairly impressive in the present scenario.
The thrust areas of the department are Power System, Power Electronics and Control System.
Besides the UG course, the department offers the PhD and M.Tech programs.
The department is equipped with latest hardware and software to provide research on renewable energy, electric vehicle, converter design , model predictive control system, observer design, machine learning , drone technology etc.
The department possesses the stat-of-art software and hardware such as MATLAB, Labview, Typhoon Hill, dSPACE, electric vehicle charging station and solar panels.
In the department , there are four research projects funded by different agencies. The faculty members are having Ph.D. degree from IITs, NITs and other reputed institutes.
The faculty members of the department have published research papers in IEEE transactions, SCI journals such as Elsevier and Springer etc., and reputed conferences.
